Karl Montevirgen

Karl Montevirgen (b. August 10, 1969) is an American Composer who specializes in improvisational, experimental guitar work.

Musical improvisation

This method was a favorite in compositions by Scarlatti and Handel especially at the beginning of a piece, even when not forming a fugue.

Such chords also appeared to some extent in baroque keyboard music, such as the 3rd movement theme in Bach's Italian Concerto.

Handel, Scarlatti, and Bach all belonged to a tradition of solo keyboard improvisation.

Amar also dabbles in the jazz and improvisational music scene, and studies with Jacques Beaudoin of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, one of the most prominent orchestras in the world.
