In 1960, during the promotional qualifications for the Yugoslav Second League, NK Branik was involved in the food poisoning affair before their match against NK Karlovac.
Led by manager Igor Pamić, Karlovac won consecutive promotions in the 2007–08 and 2008–09 seasons, which saw them join the top level for the first time in their history.
In January 2012, Jaspert was announced as a joint manager of Croatian club NK Karlovac alongside Krešimir Ganjto after the club was taken over by German company Haag Sportmanagement but the deal never took place.
