Budenovka became part of history as Red Army cavalry men wearing budennovkas became an iconic cultural image from the Russian civil war, together with tachankas, the Nagant revolver or Mauser C96, Maxim gun and rebelling sailors with ammo belts slung over their chests.
It was chambered for the 7.5mm Nagant cartridge, which at the time of the creation of the Landstad was also used in the Swedish Mod. 1887 and Norwegian Mod. 1893 Nagant revolvers.
There is an example of a suppressed Nagant M1895 in the CIA Museum in Langley, Virginia, USA.
At the moment of firing, the front of the shell sealed inside the breech of the barrel much like the Nagant M1895 revolver.
Loading is accomplished through a loading gate located on the right of the cylinder, similar to the Nagant 1895 revolver.
