The film features music from some of the most influential bands of the era and culture, including the Butthole Surfers, Dead Kennedys, Black Flag and Naked Raygun, and an original score by American composer David Reid.
They formed during the Naked Raygun era which was where the band members met and also, for whom they eventually opened.

Drone-heavy, fuzzed out debut LP Done, produced by Iain Burgess (Naked Raygun, Ministry, Big Black), was released in Germany in 1992 before the band gained a recording and distribution deal with US Independent label Matador Records in 1994, having been championed by Yo La Tengo.
After contributing "Too Much Pain" to the There's a Fungus Among Us compilation, the Bhopal Stiffs disbanded in 1989; Larry Damore and Steve Saylors later formed Pegboy with former Naked Raygun guitarist John Haggerty, while Dave Schleitwiler went on to play drums for local groups Buzzmuscle and The Indicators, amongst others, and Ron Lowe became a recording engineer at the Chicago Recording Company.
Notable members include John Haggerty of Pegboy (and formerly Naked Raygun), Joe Principe of Rise Against, Herb Rosen of Right of the Accused and Mark DeRosa of Dummy.
After Trial By Fire broke up, Pierre Kezdy went on to play with Naked Raygun and Pegboy.
