It then continued at Wetherby until it was transferred to its present home, Haydock Park, in 2005.
It became known as the Lloyds Bank Champion Novices' Hurdle in 1974, when Lloyds Bank began a brief period of sponsorship.
The race was run as the Oilexco Mares' Only Hurdle, the Warfield Mares' Hurdle in 2009 and the 1942 Was A Vintage Year Mares' Hurdle from 2010 to 2012.
