He began his acting career at the age of 12, first starting off in commercials before playing the role of 'Josh Avery' in the television series RoboCop (1994), and landed his first starring role as 'Murray Murray' in the short film Love Child (1995) alongside actress Neve Campbell.
Weller has also played lead roles in many successful independent films, including Neil Labute's The Shape of Things (with Paul Rudd, Rachel Weisz and Gretchen Mol), James Tobak's When Will I Be Loved (opposite Neve Campbell) and The Business of Strangers (with Stockard Channing and Julia Stiles).
He also starred as drummer Jesse alongside Neve Campbell on the Canadian TV show Catwalk, about a struggling band of musicians, and as Joe Hardy in the 1995 The Hardy Boys television series.
In 2008, he starred with Bradley Whitford and Neve Campbell in Burn Up playing an oil executive who becomes embroiled in the politics surrounding global warming and oil stocks.
