Newfoundland and Labrador Route 1

The Isles of Notre Dame region of the province, which includes Fogo, the Twillingate Islands, New World Island and surrounding areas, can be accessed via Route 340 at the Notre Dame Junction interchange near Lewisporte, Newfoundland and Labrador.


Corner Brook

Route 1, the Trans-Canada Highway, passes the south side of the city on a high ridge before descending to the east, into the Humber Valley.

Grand Falls-Windsor

On the other hand, the town is slightly over two hours east of Deer Lake, two hours and forty-five minutes east of Corner Brook and close to five hours east of Port Aux Basques, when traveling on the Newfoundland and Labrador Route 1, part of the Trans-Canada Highway.

Halls Bay

Halls Bay has been the determining point for the northern route of the Newfoundland Railway and then the location of the Trans-Canada Highway and is commonly referred to as the Halls Bay Line.
