Slaughter formed a new band, Scrap Metal, which consists of other platinum-selling singers such as Gunnar Nelson (Nelson), Kelly Keagy (Night Ranger) and Eric Martin (Mr. Big).
Apart from Funderburk and Gaitsch the band included Night Ranger's Kelly Keagy on drums and vocals, and George Hawkins on vocals and bass.
Night Ranger guitarist Brad Gillis uses the effect for the main melody of "Rumours in the Air" from their 1983 sophomore album Midnight Madness.
In 1988, keyboardist Alan Fitzgerald left Night Ranger, shortly after the recording of Man in Motion.
With the success of the Elektra release and the support of MTV, the Sharks toured and shared the stage with The Go-Go's, A Flock of Seagulls, Robert Palmer, Joan Jett and The Blackhearts, The Romantics, Night Ranger, The Fixx, and The Stray Cats.
