Gaza Airstrip

During the Second World War RAF Gaza was used by a number of RAF squadrons, including 33, 45, 127, 208, 318 and 451.

No. 211 Squadron RAF

On 14th June Gladiators of No. 33 Squadron and Blenheims of No. 211 Squadron supported the British army's operations for the capture of Fort Capuzzo.

No. 264 Squadron RAF

On 30 September 1957 the squadron was disbanded at RAF Leeming when it was re-numbered 33 Squadron.

North Ormsby

It was intended for No. 33 Squadron RAF use as an emergency landing site for aircraft if short of fuel during anti-Zeppelin operations.
