In 1999 the estate became the land studies campus of Northumberland College.
It has a main campus in Ashington in the south east of the county and additional centres at Kirkley Hall, Hexham and Berwick.
As of 2008, the college chief executive was Willie Mills, a former principal of both the Northumberland College in Ashington and the City College in Manchester.
