During the NHL lockout season of 2004–05, Boynton played for the Nottingham Panthers in the British Elite Ice Hockey League, memorably scoring the equalizing goal in the British Championship Grand Final.
For the 1997–98 season Carpenter returned to the United Kingdom to join the Nottingham Panthers in the Ice Hockey Superleague (ISL).
During the 2004–05 NHL lockout, there was a great demand for players like him so he played for the Nottingham Panthers of the Elite Ice Hockey League (Great Britain) and the Adelaide Avalanche of the AIHL (Australia).
He spent the early stages of his career in the ECHL, before heading to Europe to play in the British Elite Ice Hockey League in 2005 where he has since played with the Nottingham Panthers, Sheffield Steelers and Belfast Giants.
Over the weekend of 12–13 December 2009, Molin again turned out for the Nottingham Panthers in games against the Newcastle Vipers (at Whitley Bay Ice Rink) and the Hull Stingrays (at the National Ice Centre).
