In 1965 she became associated with Walter Ernest Butler, and with Gareth Knight and the Helios Course in Practical Qabalah which, in 1971, became the foundation of Servants of the Light School.

To date Ashcroft-Nowicki has written 17 books and designed two tarot decks, the SOL Tarot Deck with Jo Gill and Anthony Clark, and the Shakespearean Tarot with Paul Hardy.
Nowicki starred in many of her films, including the principal role in The Unburied Dead.
Mr Butler served as Director of Studies until his death in 1978 when he was succeeded by Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki, third-generation psychic, mediator, author, lecturer and workshop facilitator.

She was born in Paris to the renowned Russian pianist, Alexander Borovsky and her mother, Maria Sila-Nowicki, was of noble Polish and Russian descent.
