David Law

He first worked for Odhams Press as an illustrator, before moving to D. C. Thomson in the early 1930s.

James Jarché

Tasked with photographing the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in black and white for Odhams Press, he reportedly also took colour photographs, which he sold independently, and was therefore sacked by Odhams.

Odhams Press

The company also owned Ideal Home (founded 1920) and acquired the equestrian magazine Horse and Hound.


William Mellor

He became editor of the Herald in 1926, succeeding George Lansbury when the Trades Union Congress took over the paper, and was fired in 1930 soon after Odhams Press took half-ownership with the TUC.
