In Kraków on 15 December 1701 he married secondly Princess Teresa Lubomirska, heiress of Ostroh.
Landmarks include the Ostroh Castle on the Red Hill, with the Epiphany church (built in the fifteenth century) and several towers.

In the interbellum period, Ostrog belonged to County of Zdolbunow, Volhynian Voivodeship of the Second Polish Republic.

Among people born in the town are actress Anna Ciepielewska, pilot Boleslaw Drobinski of the No. 303 Polish Fighter Squadron, Polish Army general Kazimierz Kardaszewicz, Polish senator Boguslaw Litwiniec, film and theatre actress Miroslawa Lombardo, and painter Wlodzimierz Tiunin.
Around 1641 he became rabbi of the old community of Ostrog, (or Ostroh), in Volhynia.
A compendium by Jacob Marcaria was published under the title Kitzur Mizrachi (Trento, 1561), and later, one by Isaac ha-Kohen of Ostroh, entitled Mattenat 'Ani (Prague, 1604-9).
