Gavin Downie

Gavin Price Ansell Downie (5 December 1924 – 27 January 1998) was a Member of Parliament for Pakuranga in Auckland, New Zealand.

Pakuranga

Pakuranga covers a series of low ridges and previously swampy flats, now drained, that lie between the Pakuranga Creek and Tamaki River, two estuarial arms of the Hauraki Gulf.


East Auckland

The East Auckland area includes some south-eastern suburbs within the boundaries of the old Manukau City and Auckland City areas, typified by Howick and including but not limited to Pakuranga, Half Moon Bay, Mount Wellington and Dannemora.

It belongs to the Pakuranga Electorate which is currently represented by Maurice Williamson.

Mitch Evans

Evans attended Saint Kentigern College in Pakuranga, Auckland, but left at the end of 2010 to pursue his career overseas.

Collins had originally indicated to seek nomination for the seat of Howick (which the Electoral Commission later redrew and renamed to Botany following objections to the boundaries to the neighbouring electorate of Pakuranga), but then stood for the Papakura seat, which also shared common boundaries with Clevedon.

Tamaki River

The inlet extends past the suburbs of Glendowie, Glen Innes, Tamaki, Panmure, and Otahuhu to the west, and Bucklands Beach, Halfmoon Bay, Farm Cove, Sunnyhills and Pakuranga to the east.

From there, two sets of underground cables connect to Pakuranga substation, which despite the name is near Botany Town Centre in eastern Auckland (the suburb of Pakuranga is 5 km east of the substation).
