The team's mascot is the bull, a reference to the nickname of the team's namesake who was called "El Toro de las Pampas", which translates to "The Wild Bull of the Pampas" Furia Pampera was the first to have two different representative locations; Usulután (Furia Usulután) and San Salvador (Furia SS).

In 1872 Cufulcurá and his 6,000 followers went across the pampas to attack the cities of General Alvear, Veinticinco de Mayo and Nueve de Julio, resulting in the deaths of 300 settlers and the loss of 200,000 head of cattle, which the Mapuche drove back to Chile.

Chané people

They developed an agrarian culture, built densely populated villages, cultivated corn, peanuts, cotton and squash, and are famous for their ceramics and graphics which have been found mainly in the pampas surrounding the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, El Fuerte in Samaipata, and in Portachuelo, Valle Abajo, Okinawa, Cotoca, El Pari, Mataral and Warnes.

A widespread urban myth is that pampas grass is used by swingers to advertise their presence to other swingers in the area.

Esteban de Luca

De Luca's columns advocated at length for the westward expansion into the pampas, and he became known also for his translations of works by Italian dramatist Vittorio Alfieri (numerous of whose plays were then produced in Buenos Aires).

Ghosts in Spanish-speaking cultures

In the Pampas, and particularly in Carro Quemado, the ghost of a colonel on horseback galloping in search of his soldiers killed by the Indians appears from time to time.
