After producing bodies for a variety of cars in the early 1920s Park Ward became particularly associated with Bentley who manufactured their chassis nearby at Cricklewood.

Bitterne Park Ward includes the suburbs of Bitterne Park, Bitterne Manor, Midanbury and Townhill Park, and had a population of 13,276 as of the 2001 Census.
Departing south from Hall Road, the trail passes Goldenrod Park, crosses State Road 436 via a bridge opened in November 2006, then passes Cady Way Park, Ward Park, Brookshire Elementary School, Winter Park High School, the former Naval Training Center Orlando and the Winter Pines Golf Club.
