Departing south from Hall Road, the trail passes Goldenrod Park, crosses State Road 436 via a bridge opened in November 2006, then passes Cady Way Park, Ward Park, Brookshire Elementary School, Winter Park High School, the former Naval Training Center Orlando and the Winter Pines Golf Club.

It was constructed along an abandoned East Florida and Atlantic Railroad corridor, which ran to the Naval Training Center Orlando, which is now Baldwin Park, an upscale housing project.
The northeastern portion of the Aloma Branch's former right of way has been converted for use as the Cross Seminole Trail, while the branch to the former Orlando Naval Training Center is now the Cady Way Trail.
