Pasrur is mentioned by Mughal Emperor Babar in Baburnama as a halting-place between Sialkot and Kalanaur, and seems to have once been of considerable importance.

Unable to travel back to Pasrur to perform important rituals on the tomb of Baba Dharam Dass, they have created two replicas of his tomb, one in the town of Meerut near Delhi and other in Ludhiana in Indian Punjab.
The aim of the attack was to seize the key Grand Trunk Road around Wazirabad and the capture of Jassoran which would enable domination of Sialkot-Pasrur railway, thus completely cutting off Pakistani supply line.
