She returned to the Met in December 2006 to star opposite Plácido Domingo and Paul Groves in the world premiere of Tan Dun’s The First Emperor (which was televised and later published on DVD), later appearing in I puritani.
Under the guide of Robert Grayson, two opera students, Paul Groves and Lisette Oropesa, have won Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in 1991 and 2005 respectively, and have gone on to have international operatic careers and regularly sing at the Metropolitan Opera.

James, Emyr Humphreys, Leslie Norris, Gwyneth Lewis, Les Murray, Rachel Trezise, Niall Griffiths, Owen Sheers, Terry Eagleton, Edna Longley, Byron Rogers, Gillian Clarke and Paul Groves.
The opera was recorded in USA and Europe featuring Bryn Terfel, Paul Groves and Ying Huang.
