Ivyrise was formed in 2007 by Ben Falinski and began touring the UK with Kula Shaker before working with producer Paul Simm to record "Tips" and the first studio version of "Disguise".
Simm is a member of the band Virgin Souls, along with Cameron McVey, Silvio Pacini and Neil Pearson.

In 2005 Simm was commissioned to compose music for Gucci's Gucci pour Homme II campaign.
