The French cellist and composer Paul Tortelier based his Sonata Breve "Bucéphale" on the story of Bucephalus.
Paul Tortelier, impressed by the ideals of the kibbutzim, settled and worked here for a year, with his family.
In the 1970s he gave a series of master classes which were recorded and broadcast on TV by the BBC, which demonstrate his very dynamic style of playing.
