Welles was a United States district court case between former 1981 Playboy Playmate of the Year ("PMOY") Terri Welles and Playboy Enterprises, Inc. in which Welles was accused of trademark infringement and trademark dilution in her use of Playboy's trademarked terms in the metatags of her website.
In 1971, at age 27, she became the oldest Playmate of the Year thus far and remained so for 15 years, until Miss May 1985 Kathy Shower became PMOY 1986 at age 33.
She also appears in an episode of Playboy TV's "Hot Babes Doing Stuff Naked" (Camping - Episode 18), where she goes camping with three other Playmates (Lindsay Wagner - Miss November 2007, Sara Jean Underwood - 2007 Playmate of the Year, & Nicole Voss - Miss August 2006).
