Schnitzer was also a financial supporter of such cultural institutions as the Oregon Symphony, the Portland Opera, and the Oregon Ballet, in addition to various educational and social service programs.
A successful revival was the Portland Opera's 1975 Life of Orestes in the composer's English translation.

In 2014, All Classical Portland will move to its new home in the Hampton Opera Center on the east bank of the Willamette River, just south of OMSI.
Scenes from the work were premiered by the University of York Music Department in November 1999 whilst the complete work was being lined up to debut at Portland Opera, Oregon.
