In addition to the Potsdam Agreement, on 26 July, Churchill, Truman, and Chiang Kai-shek, Chairman of the Nationalist Government of China (the Soviet Union was not at war with Japan) issued the Potsdam Declaration which outlined the terms of surrender for Japan during World War II in Asia.

After the outbreak of the Wuchang Uprising against Qing rule in 1911, the revolutionaries elected Sun Yat-sen as the "provisional president" (臨時大總統) of the transitional government, with the Republic of China officially established on January 1, 1912.
In the same year, Yikuang's son Zaizhen inherited the title of "Prince Qing of the First Rank" with the approval of President Li Yuanhong.
In 1917 President Li Yuanhong granted permission for Zaizhen to inherit the title of "Prince Qing of the First Rank" (慶親王) after the death of Zaizhen's father Yikuang.

ROC Presidential Office Secretary-General Timothy Yang said that a team will be established and charged with improving security around the building.
In mid April 2013, Deputy Minister Chen confirmed that former ROC President Chen Shui-bian was transferred from Taipei Veterans General Hospital to Pei-de Hospital in Taichung Prison where he will serve his remaining 20 years of sentence there.
The organization was established in Taipei, Republic of China on August 14, 2005, and former Vice President of the Republic of China, Annette Lu is its current chairperson.
This was the ROC's first participation in an event organized by a UN-affiliated agency since 1971, as a result of the improved cross-strait relations since Ma Ying-jeou became the President of the Republic of China a year before.
He is highly honored in both the ROC and the PRC, as in the ROC, presidents take oath in front of Dr. Sun's portrait, and Dr. Sun's portrait is displayed during National Day Celebrations, and in the PRC, his portrait is also displayed during the flag-raising on National Day.
He also served as Nationalist China Secretary of the Official Punishment Committee as well as the Secretary-General to the President of the Republic of China.
