Journalists had confused her with her niece, Princess Fawzia Farouk (1940–2005), one of the three daughters of King Farouk.
Her body was flown to Cairo where she was buried at Al-Rifa'i Mosque, as traditional for members of the Egyptian royal family on 30 January.
