General Service Training School

Located at RNZAF Base Woodbourne, it takes recruits through a thirteen-week training program designed to produce airmen and airwomen for the RNZAF.

Graham Lintott

He completed the Basic Sioux Helicopter Course and the Iroquois Course, before completing tours with No. 3 Squadron RNZAF and RNZAF Support Unit Singapore.

Hobsonville Point Secondary School

The school is being constructed as part of the Hobsonville Point housing development to serve the 3000 new homes being built on the former RNZAF Hobsonville Airbase and the wider Hobsonville/West Harbour area, easing roll capacity on existing nearby secondary schools.

Keith Caldwell

During the Second World War he served in the RNZAF, as station commander at Woodbourne near Blenheim and later Wigram at Christchurch, before being posted to India in 1944 and England in 1945, where he was promoted to acting Air Commodore, achieving full rank in 1946.

New Zealand in the Vietnam War

Two more RNZAF pilots joined No. 9 Squadron in 1968 and from December 1968 two Forward air controllers served with the Seventh Air Force, United States Air Force.

No. 40 Squadron RNZAF

The squadron was formed at Whenuapai on 1 June 1943 as No. 40 Transport Squadron RNZAF.

No. 42 Squadron RNZAF

42 Squadron of the RNZAF was formed at Rongotai (Wellington) in December 1943 to provide a communications service around New Zealand, initially using impressed civilian types.

Physical Training Instructor

RNZAF PTIs utilise the motto Mens Sana In Corpore Sano, which roughly translates as "a healthy mind in a healthy body".

RAAF Command

Responsibility for all Allied air operations south of the Philippines, as well as Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) units based in the Solomon Islands to support the Bougainville Campaign, was assigned to RAAF Command.

Ron Chippindale

Chippindale was a pilot for the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) from 1951 to 1974, flying transport and training aircraft.

Scott Base

This was later changed to Pram Point as it provided better access for offloading supplies from the Expedition ship HMNZS Endeavour and also allowed for the operation of the critical RNZAF Antarctic Flight on a nearby ice runway.

Singapore Naval Base

NZFORSEA consisted of 1 Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment (RNZIR), which was based at Dieppe Barracks near Yishun New Town, No. 141 Flight of Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF), with its Bell UH-1D/H Hueys based at Sembawang Air Base and frequent deployments of Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN) frigates.

Most of the RNZAF's operational and training units are stationed at RNZAF Base Auckland and RNZAF Base Ohakea in the North Island.

Trekka

In July 1969, at the height of the American War in Vietnam, five Trekkas were flown into South Vietnam in RNZAF Bristol Freighters.
