After radio DJ Simon Bates first aired A Different Corner on Radio 1, he rated the song so highly that he immediately played it again from the beginning.

Though it never reached the UK charts, The Kid became popular in the famous Northern Soul venue The Twisted Wheel, based in Manchester, and DJ Noel Edmonds used Holiday as the theme tune to his Radio 1 programme in the 1970s.

The album compiles Elliott's remixes of work by other artists, including Blonde Redhead, Tarwater and Yann Tiersen, together with a rare collaboration with English satirist Chris Morris involving Elliott's music underpinning dialogue from the "Bad Sex" series of sketches from Morris' Radio 1 "ambient comedy" show Blue Jam.

Afterwards, their first successful single, "Fade Away", reached the playlists of radio channels Studio Brussel and Radio 1.

In May 2008 Stephen featured heavily on Chris Moyles' Radio 1 Breakfast Show for the line "That is not my name" in his heavy Northern Irish accent, a mis-quote of the Sue Tilley interview with ITV News.

The song was popularised by Radio 1 DJ Chris Evans, who played it frequently on his radio shows and to introduce guests on his television programme TFI Friday.

What Is Happening

Despite promoting the track on The Graham Norton Show and Loose Women, and a place on the Radio 1 A-List, What Is Happening failed to enter the UK Top 75, charting at 110.
