Col. Raj Singh, Raja of Kasli

Jaipur State Forces were merged into a unified Indian Army in April 1951 wherein Col. Raj Singh was appointed to command the 2nd Rajputana Rifles.

Rajputana Rifles

In 1878–1880, during the Second Afghan War, the 1st Battalion marched 145 miles in 5 days from Quetta to Kandahar and laid siege to the city.

The name Rajputana Rifles is derived from the Rajput a Hindu clan and the word Rajputana which was the old name of Rajasthan.

Sriram Singh

Sriram Singh joined Rajputana Rifles in 1968 where he came under the influence of the coach Ilyas Babar.
