Geet Ramayan has been translated into nine other languages and also transliterated into Braille.
Established in 1926 as a small shop in Kalbadevi, Mumbai, it is most known for its period costumes, in Ram Rajya (1943) Mughal-e-Azam (1960) and Anarkali (1953), and mythological TV series Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan (1987-1988) and B.R. Chopra’s Mahabharat (1988-1990).
In Ramanand Sagar's highly successful television series Ramayan, Manthara is played by veteran character actress Lalita Pawar.
He first came to prominence for portraying Guru Vashishta in Ramanand Sagar's TV series Ramayan and is well known for his role as Sai Baba in the eponymous TV series, also created by Sagar.
