Battle of Zhu Qissa

Battle of Zhu Qissa, was a confrontation between the forces led by Tulayha and the forces of the Rashidun Caliphate.

Rashidun Caliphate

This army penetrated deeper into Nubia and laid siege to the Nubian capital of Dongola.

Within a short span of time, the Arab armies defeated a major Sassanid counter-attack in the Battle of Jalūlā', as well as other engagements at Qasr-e Shirin, and Masabadhan.

A campaign was undertaken against Nubia during the Caliphate of Umar in 642, but failed after the Makurians took victory at the First Battle of Dongola.
