Alexander Construction Company

The most well-known Alexander house in Las Palmas is the Lawford/Kennedy house, originally built for Peter Lawford, connected by marriage to the Kennedy family and a charter member of the Rat Pack.

Antonio Morelli

Morelli not only acted as the band leader and musical conductor for the Copa Room during the Hotel's Rat Pack heyday in the 1950s and 60s, he also played that role on hundreds of recorded albums by those same entertainers who graced the stage of the Copa including Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, and many others.

The house is famous for being the home of Sands Hotel band leader and musical conductor Antonio Morelli and his wife Helen during the Rat Pack heyday of the 1950s and 60s.

Frank Gagliardi

In 1964, Frank was hired for what he called “the best job in the world”, percussionist for the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas, where he played for star entertainers such as Frank Sinatra and the “Rat Pack.” After 10 years, he joined the faculty of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and over the next 22 years, Frank led the UNLV Jazz Ensemble to international stature, traveling world-wide, capturing multiple awards, and releasing 12 albums and CDs.
