Ángel Atienza

Ángel Atienza Landeta (born 16 March 1931 in Madrid) is a Spanish artist and retired footballer who played as a defender for Real Madrid, with whom he won the inaugural European Cup.

Nampula

Abel Xavier, a Portuguese football player, and Carlos Queiroz, a Portuguese football manager formerly in charge of Real Madrid, are also from Nampula, at that time a city of the Portuguese Overseas Province of Mozambique.


1923–24 Nelson F.C. season

Six matches were played during the trip, two each against Real Madrid, Racing de Santander and Real Oviedo.

1960 European Cup Final

The 1960 European Cup Final was the fifth final in the history of the European Cup, and was contested between Real Madrid of Spain and Eintracht Frankfurt of Germany.

2000 in association football

Alfredo Santaelena

On 29 June 1991 Alfredo scored the game's only goal against RCD Mallorca, in the Copa del Rey final, also appearing in the following year, a 2–0 win against Real Madrid.

Antonio González Álvarez

In the 1962–63 season, after having helped the Colchoneros to back-to-back Copa del Rey trophies and the 1962 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup (he played in the first match of the final against ACF Fiorentina, in Glasgow) Chuzo scored an astonishing nine goals in only 14 matches, with Atlético finishing in second position in the league behind neighbouring Real Madrid.

Branko Rašović

Crown of his career was the 1966 European Cup Final in Brussels, when Partizan played in the final againstth Spain champion Real Madrid C.F. They played at the famous Heysel Stadium in front of 55 000 spectators.

Ciriaco Errasti

In the 1931 summer Ciriaco signed with Real Madrid, going on to be regularly played during his five-year spell and winning two national championships and as many Copa del Rey trophies, while forming an effective defensive partnership with former Alavés teammate Jacinto Quincoces; he also missed most of his third season with the Merengues due to injury.

Cleveland Stokers

Those who represented the Stokers so well in the field during 1968 included Ruben "The Hatchet" Navarro, a world-class defender who made numerous national-team appearances with Argentina, his native land - where his name and play remain legendary - and Enrique Mateos, a veteran goal scorer from Spain - part of the powerful Real Madrid dynasty of the late 1950s.

On 19 January 2005 he had arguably his best moment with the Castile and León club, scoring in a 1–1 away draw against Real Madrid for the season's Copa del Rey and being essential as his team progressed to the quarterfinals on the away goals rule.
