Li Xiuqin

The inspiration for the works in this exhibition is from her experience of a disease - Rheumatic fever she got when she was on a research team to the northeast part of China,which almost cost her eyesight.

The Lovers of Montparnasse

It was originally directed by Max Ophüls, but he died of rheumatic heart disease while shooting interiors on the film, so his name was credited as dedicatee; his friend Jacques Becker took over after Ophüls's death and completed filming.


Sequela

Rheumatic fever is a nonsuppurative sequela of a primary infection of group A Streptococcus bacteria.
