In 2010, "Boogie Fever" was used prominently in the movie Despicable Me, and its theme park attraction adaptation, Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem.

Edmund Sylvers

Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Sylvers was 15 years old when he started singing with the family-based musical group, and was 18 when he sang lead on the group's biggest hit, "Boogie Fever" (1975).


James Jamerson

He went on to perform on such 1970s hits as "Rock the Boat" (Hues Corporation), "Boogie Fever" (The Sylvers), and "You Don't Have To Be A Star (To Be In My Show)" (Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis, Jr.) and also played on Robert Palmer's 1975 solo album "Pressure Drop".
