3 unusual facts about Ribble Valley Line


Middlewood railway station

Although a station named "Middlewood" was featured in Episode 2 of Channel 4's Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere, the location used was actually Entwistle station on the Ribble Valley Line.

Ramsgreave and Wilpshire railway station

The present station was built 400 yards south of the original Wilpshire station which served the Ribble Valley Line until its closure just before the Beeching Axe in 1962.

Ramsgreave and Wilpshire is a railway station on the Ribble Valley Line that serves the villages/suburbs of Ramsgreave and Wilpshire, just north of Blackburn in Lancashire, England.


Station Road Ground

The gound is bordered to the north and west by other sports fields, while to the south it is bordered by residential housing and to the east by the Ribble Valley Line and Whalley railway station.
