Three poems from her book were specifically pointed out to be a direct translation of well-known poems by Roger McGough, Ann Hoberman and Vachel Linsay.
The poet, presenter and member of the Scaffold, Roger McGough was resident in the hall for three years from 1955; he took a degree in French and Geography and served as hall librarian.
In 1980 he recited a high-speed one-minute version of Longfellow's poem "The Wreck of the Hesperus", complete with sound effects, on the album Miniatures produced by Morgan Fisher.
