Her first major race of 2010 came at the Roma Ostia Half Marathon in February, which she won in a time of 1:10:34, beating home favourite Rosaria Console.
This met the qualifying standard for the 2012 Olympic Games, but three other athletes had run faster than her (Anna Incerti, Rosaria Console and Nadia Ejjafini).
Instead, she made her European debut in October at the Maratona d'Italia in Carpi and was the runner-up behind Rosaria Console.
