The town is alive both by day as by night, especially thanks to its festivals, (Montreux Jazz Festival, Rose d'Or, Festival du Rire, Rencontres Chorales, etc.) its flowered docks, its terraces and casino and its Hotel Belle-Epoque.
Author and host of show was journalist and TV producer Dubravko Merlić, who later won the Rose d'Or award for The Pyramid series in 2007.

His 2006 documentary The Singing Estate, shown on the UK’s Channel 5, was nominated for the Rose d’Or award.
Bowen won a BAFTA for My Life as a Popat and a BAFTA nomination for Suburban Shootout together with RTS, Broadcast and Chicago Film Festival awards, Prix Jeunesse, Rose D'or, Emmy and BANFF nominations and most recently the Monte Carlo Golden Nymph for Best International Producer of the Year.
They included "The Strike", which won the Golden Rose of Montreux; "More Bad News", a sequel to "Bad News Tour" showing the band reforming after five years to play at Castle Donington; and "Mr. Jolly Lives Next Door", written by Mayall and Edmondson in the violent style of their sitcoms Filthy Rich and Catflap and Bottom, which featured Peter Cook as a psychotic contract killer (the eponymous Mr. Jolly) and Nicholas Parsons.
