Nash Mill was renowned for its production of tough thin paper for Samuel Bagster's "Pocket Reference Bible".

Samuel Bagster the Elder

He died at his residence in Old Windsor on 28 March 1851, aged 78 and is commemorated with a large ledger slab memorial at Abney Park Cemetery.

He was educated at Northampton under the Rev. John Ryland, and, after serving an apprenticeship with William Otridge, commenced business as a general bookseller on 19 April 1794 in the Strand, where he remained until 1816.

We are informed by a member of the family that the Latin version, multæ terricolis linguæ, cœlestibus una, was by William Greenfield.
