He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1892 to the Fifty-third Congress, losing to Cannon (who regained his seat).

Busey was elected as a Democrat to the Fifty-second Congress (March 4, 1891-March 3, 1893) defeating Joseph Gurney Cannon.


Bledsoe, Texas

Bledsoe was founded in 1925 as the terminus of the Panhandle and Santa Fe Railway, and named for Samuel T. Bledsoe, the line's president.
