The alleged finding of human remains, designated San Geronimo, in 1853 afforded striking confirmation of an incident recorded by a Spanish Benedictine named Diego de Haëdo, who published a topography of Algeria in 1612.

The "Polvorín de San Gerónimo" or gunpowder house that was built in 1769 and supplied the fort with gunpowder is now part of the Luis Muñoz Rivera Park.
It is bordered in the north by barangay Villa Coloma, in the south by barangay Villa Quirino, in the east by barangay Baretbet and the Magat River, and in the west by barangay San Geronimo.
