A retrospective exhibition of his "Polar Art", depicting creatures and scenery from both the Arctic and Antarctic was open at the Scott Polar Research Institute in May and June 2007.

The most recent addition to the Library is the Shackleton Memorial Library, which in 1999 won a regional award from the Royal Institute of British Architects.

In particular, the group has been able to observe the melting of the Larsen Ice Shelf, the rapid retreat of ice in western Antarctica, and increased summer melting in northern Canada.

The feature was delineated by the Scott Polar Research Institute (SPRI)-NSF-TUD airborne radio echo sounding program, 1967-79, and named after the corvette Zelee (Lt. Charles Jacquinot) of the French expedition, 1837–40 (Capt. Jules Dumont d'Urville).
