The ship's previous names were: Hoverspeed Great Britain (1990–2004), Emeraude GB (2004–2005), and Speedrunner 1 (2005–2008) when she sailed the Mediterranean Sea for Sea Containers Ltd and Aegean Speed Lines.
HSC Hellenic Wind (yard number 6000) is a high-speed craft (HSC) owned by Hellenic Seaways, having previously being owned by Sea Containers.
Hence Sea Containers decided, despite their earlier decision, to continue operating SuperSeaCat Three and Four under the SuperSeaCat brand.
In 2006 she was transferred to another Sea Containers subsidiary, SuperSeaCat.
When Stena Line bought Sealink British Ferries in 1990, the Isle of Wight ferries remained with Sea Containers, as ‘Wightlink’.
