Marzullo was active with the Second Harvest Food Bank and was an active member of the community with his own ice cream flavor, "Frank's Twister", at all Handel's locations with proceeds going to Second Harvest.

In 1976 John left St. Mary’s Food Bank and established Second Harvest (now known as Feeding America).
They do a lot of work at many sites like Sacred Heart Community Center, Resource Area For Teaching (RAFT), Second Harvest Food Bank, and many more.
