There are 45 bird species nesting on the islet annually, including Sedge Warbler (Acrocephalus schoenobaenus), Arctic Tern (Sterna paradisaea) and Whitethroat (Sylvia communis).
The reserve is also rich in bird life, with over 64 species recorded, including three species of summer visiting warblers, including Sedge Warbler.

The scrub along the reserve fringe supports several summer migrants including whitethroats, sedge warblers, and the grasshopper warbler.
Some species that may be observed in the countryside surrounding the village are buzzards, quail, and reed and sedge warblers.
