The family remained part of the Venetian patricians after the Serrata del Maggior Consiglio in 1297.

In 1315 it was ordered by the creation of a Golden Book in which to enroll, at the age of eighteen years, the names of those who would be entitled to access to the Great Council, followed, in 1316, to be even more restrictive rules regarding homini novi.

He proceeded to a detailed assessment of the validity of titles entered in the Golden Book, after which they proceeded to remove the possibility of electing new board members, establishing automatic access to the Higher Council for all the patricians males at the age of 25 years age, except for thirty of them, selected at random each year on the day of Santa Barbara, have access to the age of twenty years: the Grand Council thus became, finally, a meeting is closed and hereditary.
