Shop 'n Save

Shop ’n Save was founded in 1979 as a grocery store in Belleville, Illinois, near St. Louis, Missouri.

In 1983, the retail chain was acquired by Wetterau, Inc. Nine years later, in 1992, Wetterau was acquired by SuperValu, and Shop ’n Save has been a subsidiary of SuperValu since.


Eastmont Town Center

Eastmont's primary anchor tenants were JCPenney, Mervyns, Woolworth's (including a lunch counter), Safeway, Pay 'n Save and Kinney Shoes, one of the nation's leading shoe retailers at the time.

Pay 'n Save

Yard Birds stores had a logo that featured a black bird with a yellow beak, reminiscent of the cartoon characters Heckle and Jeckle.

Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix

The Presenting Sponsor since 2001 has been Shop 'n Save, and funds raised by the event benefit the Autism Society of Pittsburgh and Allegheny Valley School, which care for individuals with mental and physical disabilities.

Ravena, New York

Best Yet Supermarket left in late 2005 and the store was remodeled and opened again in the spring of 2006 as Ravena Shop 'n Save (supplied by Hannaford).

Shop 'til You Drop

A mobile game based on the 2003–05 "warehouse store" format was released by Reaxion; however, the game was discontinued in 2010.

In the fourth season of the PAX version that began airing in 2003, gameplay centered around a 14-department warehouse store (similar to stores like Costco, Sam's Club, and BJ's) instead of a shopping mall.
