Gwen Raverat (1885–1957, née Darwin, granddaughter of the naturalist Charles Darwin) was a wood engraver, artist, and illustrator, who co-founded the Society of Wood Engravers.

After graduation, in 1878, she headed the first free kindergarten in California, on Silver Street in the slums of San Francisco.
It is between Silver Street (B3355) and Fosseway (A367) near the former Midsomer Norton railway station, being nearer to Silver Street and just east of the railway centre.
