The two-day event, graced by Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Education and Law, Ms Sim Ann, aimed to heighten IP awareness and respect amongst the public by reaching out to the community at large.
In 2011, he contested again representing the team from the PAP which was led by Minister Vivian Balakrishnan together with Christopher de Souza and Sim Ann in a reduced-size (from 5 MPs to 4) Holland-Bukit Timah GRC.
Sim also holds a post-graduate diploma in translation and interpretation from Nanyang Technological University, which she completed in 2005.

In the 2011 general election, Balakrishnan's team, including Liang Eng Hwa, Christopher de Souza and Sim Ann, defeated the opposing team from Singapore Democratic Party with 60.1% of the votes.
